With corners Brandon Hogan and Chris Gamble missing considerable time during training camp, the Carolina Panthers have claimed former Atlanta CB Chevis Jackson off waivers from the Denver Broncos, according to a report from NBCsports.com.
Jackson, a 3rd round selection by the Falcons in 2008, appeared in all 16 games his rookie season, starting once. He collected two interceptions that season–the first a 95-yard touchdown return against New Orleans, and another in Atlanta’s Wilcard Playoff loss to Arizona.
The move gives Carolina some veteran presence at the position, though it remains unknown how much he will contribute in the regular season, if at all. We will continue to follow Jackson’s progress in camp and give you updates as we see fit.
